PHYSIOTHERAPISTTamara Oakley
BSc., MSc.PT, IMS, ISST, Vestibular and Pilates-Based Rehabilitation
Tamara’s interest in physiotherapy started early. When she was 7, her dad sustained a severe femur fracture in a dirt bike accident and was treated by her aunt, a physiotherapist. Watching that process—and how structured movement could rebuild strength and function—sparked a lasting interest in rehabilitation.
She completed a Bachelor of Science in Biology at UVic and her Master of Physical Therapy at UBC. A background in fitness instruction continues to shape her practical, exercise-based approach to care.
With a lifelong background in sport and movement, Tamara understands the demands of training, injury, and recovery. She works with a wide range of patients, including children and teens, and takes a collaborative, individualized approach focused on identifying the root cause of symptoms and helping people return to the activities they enjoy.
Her continuing education has focused on orthopaedics and exercise-based care, including dry needling (IMS), advanced vestibular rehabilitation, Pilates-based rehab, and treatment of the spine, shoulder, elbow, hip, and foot/ankle, as well as pediatric and adolescent populations.
She is the Okanagan’s only certified International Schroth 3D Scoliosis Therapy practitioner, providing specialized care for scoliosis and kyphosis.
Outside the clinic, Tamara enjoys hiking, mountain biking, snowboarding, and strength training. Having spent many years connected to the Lake Country community through family, she values being able to now live and work in the area.
